Bart Hollants is our Innovation Broker and deputy section head for outreach and leads European engagement of NATOs innovation Branch.
As such he chairs the NATO Innovation Network and focuses on connecting military innovation
entities to our strategic headquarters. By connecting HQ SACTs priorities and requirements for warfare development to the vast network of innovation entities in the Alliance, he supports and drives forward rapid capability development in NATO and in Allied Nations.

Bart holds a MSc. Degree in Innovation Sciences from Utrecht University and specializes in military innovation dynamics. Through his strong ties with his alma mater and the field of innovation sciences he continues to contribute to scientific research on dual use innovation, civilian-military collaboration and emerging innovation in the military domain.
Before joining NATO HQ SACT in 2023, Bart worked for the Innovation Branch of the Dutch Army as Innovation Strategist and contributed to the development and implementation of the Dutch open military innovation strategy. As an experienced academic and former university lecturer, he is a strong team player and networker and feels at home in a lecture hall, a passion he brings to his current role as Certified Professional Innovation Coach for the growing NATO Innovation Community.
